Nude Lip Series: Lime Crime Lipstick in CoquetteWednesday, June 15, 2011
When I first saw this lipstick on the Lime Crime promo images I knew I had to have it. It was the perfect yellow-toned, pinky-nude lipstick - the one I'd been searching for all my 'nude-lipstick life'.
Lime Crime were kind enough to send me a sample of this lipstick to feature in this series, so I was pretty damn psyched when it arrived in the mail. I opened it, ooh-ed and ah-ed at the packaging, then ran into the bathroom to swatch it in front of the mirror.
Let's just all pretend that we don't notice my weird face!
I know, a lot of people don't like too-white lips, but I'm a colossal fan of a very high-nude lip with a smoky eye, so Lime Crime's Coquette checks a lot of my boxes!
Because my skin tone is yellow, the beige in this lipstick is perfect, and I love that hint of pink shining through! I don't look my best with cool pinks, so I think this the perfect way to add a little pink to my nude lip! It is very opaque, so you don't need to apply any foundation or concealer to your lips before applying this lipstick - one swipe and you're ready to go!
The formula of this lipstick is nice and creamy - just the way I like it. It's not too heavy, and doesn't settle into your lips too much, so it doesn't highlight any imperfections. Because of this formula, it does require a bit of re-application if you're going to wear it throughout the night, but it's easy to apply, so that doesn't bother me.
This lipstick retails for USD 16 on the Lime Crime website. It is limited edition, so if you're interested, get it before it runs out :)
