Get the Look: Silver Pop Prom TutorialThursday, April 28, 2011
Hello everyone! I have another tutorial for the prom series - this time a look with a silver pop on the eyelid.
Start off by laying down a base shadow all over the eyelid, below the crease. Here I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pots and Pans. Then, blend it out with a blending brush.
Take a silver eyeshadow, and push it onto the silver base shadow with an eyeshadow brush. I used a silver colour from my 88 Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette.
Using a pencil brush and a black eyeshadow (I used the matte black from my 88 Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette), then blend it out. A great tip for those with warmer skins (the black and silver might look too stark against warm skin tones) is to dip your blending brush into a bronzer or a dark contour shade before blending the black eyeshadow out.
Dip an angled eyeshadow brush into the same matte black, then press it onto your upper lashline. Using the same brush, pull the eyeshadow upwards all the way along the lashline, to soften it and blend it out. Stamp the angled brush onto the outer corner of the eye and pull the line towards the black eyeshadow line in the crease.
Line both your upper and lower waterlines with an eye pencil, then smoke out the lower lashline with a pencil brush dipped into the matte black eyeshadow.
Take an eyeshadow brush and dip it into a highly shimmery silver eyeshadow, or silver glitter. Then, press that shimmer onto the silver eyeshadow. I used Heavenly Naturals pigment in Tinsel.
Dip a pencil brush into the matte black eyeshadow, and softly redefine both the upper lashline and the crease line. Make sure that the line is soft and blended in.
Apply bronzer in a 3 shape at your temples, under your cheekbones, and on your jawline. I used the plum brown shade in the SAX Eye Delight Eyeshadow Palette for this. Layer a pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks, and blend into the contour shade. I used Face of Australia Blush in Primrose. Then, pat a highlight shade into your brow bones and in a C shape on your cheekbones. I used TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer for this.
Apply a pinky toned lipstick, then top it off with a lipgloss. I mixed Revlon Matte lipstick in Pink Pout with NYX Round Lipstick in Strawberry Milk, then layered SAX Lip Gloss in Sweet Pea on top of that.
I hope you enjoyed this!
