FOTD: Purple Cat EyeSunday, April 17, 2011
Hello everyone! I hope you're all having an amazing weekend!
I'm just posting an FOTD today - I've been swatching the Face of Australia Molten Metallics nail polish collection (review and swatches to come soon) and fell so in love with the colour 'Amethyst' that I decided to do a purple FOTD, just because I love playing with makeup.
Here's the FOTD, for anyone who might be interested :)
I'm not sure what made me want to do a cat eye. I usually shy away from cat eyes because my eyes are quite elevated as it is, and cat eyes only make it worse.
I tried to soften the cat effect by keeping the black eyeliner close to the lashline, and only pulling the eyeshadow out into the feline shape. This creates a softer effect while still (kind of) keeping the shape of your eye. If you have slightly set-apart eyes, or small eyes, or elevated eyes, then I suggest using this method if you want to try a cat eye.
I also suggest bringing the eyeshadow lower underneath your eye, so that the look doesn't end up too severe.
