Face of the Day: MAC Pigment in Deep Blue Green

Saturday, January 15, 2011

I received MAC pigments in the mail yesterday, and among them was the Deep Blue Green pigment, something I've been wanting to try for quite some time now.

Also in the mail yesterday was the NYX Round lipstick I'd ordered in Paris. It's such a pretty Barbie pink colour, and I thought it would match the Deep Blue Green pigment perfectly.

Also, I recently received a pack of Eye Charm Double Eyelid tape to review, and I thought I would try it out. Even though I already have a double eyelid, I thought maybe this tape would be able to accentuate the part that is visible when my eyes are open, because normally it's a little hooded on the inner corners of my eyes.
I'm not sure it worked, though. What do you guys think? No difference?

So I did a stark-ish (?) smoky eye with it (I can hear you guys saying, 'So what's new?'), and matched it with a pink lip. (I am loving that lipstick colour!!)

So here are the products I used:

Eye Charm Double Eyelid Tape
As you can see, it's not too visible, but once I applied my eye make up it did look a little bit more noticeable because of the shadows it cast.

This colour is actually pretty similar to MAC's Paint Pot in Rubenesque. I think if you're looking for a good dupe of MAC's Paint Pots in general, this is the way to go.

MAC Pigment in Deep Blue Green

This is the only colour I used on my lids. I used a brush loaded with pigment to 'outline' the shape of the eyeshadow-filled area, which is why the edges look a little bit darker.

I also used Deep Blue Green to smudge out the eyeliner on both my top and bottom lashlines.
I used Mutiny on the inner corners of my eyes, extending a little bit onto the lower lashline and blended into the Deep Blue Green on the lower lashline.

My false eyelashes are just some random beauty brand. I haven't yet found a brand or style that I love. I am always on the lookout for thick, but not too fake-looking lashes. If you have any recommendations, I'm all ears! :)

So that's my Deep Blue Green look. Has anyone else tried MAC pigments? If you have done a look with MAC pigments, drop a link to it in the comment box so I can check it out!

Oh, and happy weekend, everyone!
