5 Ways to Rock a Floral Top

Monday, September 27, 2010

Spring is here! I was just out shopping yesterday and didn't even need my cardigan to walk around. It's so sunny and beautiful out there!

And of course, with the arrival of spring comes floral motifs. Floral tops, jackets, bags! I thought I'd do a little tribute post to a floral top listed on eBay, for only AUD 6.50!

You can find the floral top here.

The first outfit I posted is kind of obvious actually - the blazer is a classic wardrobe staple, and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

This outfit combines the strong masculine lines of the military blazer and riding boots with the soft feminine floral. Check out Olivia Palermo's take on the look in my post '5 Fashion Perks that Come from Having a Boyfriend'

This is all new territory for me. I don't know how to wear boyfriend jeans, nor have I ever tried. But I am loving this look! I first got hooked onto it watching Katherine Heigl in 'Killers'. I posted about her nail colour in the movie here, but never commented on her outfit. She looked lovely in the opening scene, and that's how I got my inspiration for this outfit.

This outfit is dedicated to those who love to feel comfortable and look good at the same time. The warm cardigan is great for chilly nights, and makes the floral top pop out in contrast. Also, the boots and jeggings provide more structure to the outfit, so you comfortable instead of sloppy.

This is just paying homage to my tweed obsession, and my shorts-with-tights obsession. I love :)
